Surrey Tipi Wedding
Are you planning a tipi wedding but want it to have a luxury feel? You will love this wedding for inspiration!
Katie and Jo got married at the local church of Katie's childhood village. It was such a happy day, and we were spoilt by September sun.
The ceremony
The ceremony was a church service led by Jo’s mum. There were several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so personal.
The festival themed wedding
The reception part of the wedding was held in a giant tipi on a field in Godalming with a beautiful view of the neighbouring lake. I love outdoor weddings because there are no rules and you can make them bespoke to you. There were multiple tipis, chill out zones, wellies and umbrellas in case of rain. Guests were spoilt by cocktails and a vegetarian feast for dinner.
It was truly a celebration, with so much love, fun and laughter going around!
Advice for planning your tipi wedding
You can definitely add a few touches of luxury to your outdoor tipi wedding:
Add beautiful styling and florals
Flowers have the power to dramatically transform and elevate any space. Table décor can also help bring your vision to life.
Have enough space
It does rain quite a lot in the UK, so make sure that your tipi is big enough to accommodate all your guests comfortably in case you’re all stranded. You could have several large tipis, and add some more covered chill out areas with sofas and wood burners. This will allow you all to enjoy the view of the great outdoors while being cosy and warm in your tipi.
Consider lighting
There are so many lovely ways to add light to your outdoor wedding – from candles, fairy lights and lanterns. This will help not just aesthetically, but practically: by ensuring that your guests can safely move around the venue and get to their cars.
