Intimate wedding at Hever Castle, Kent

Rebecca and Alex got married at Hever castle, an awe – inspiring National Trust place in Kent. It was an intimate and fun celebration, and I was honoured to be a part of it.

The wedding was planned in two weeks. Rebecca had told me that it was it was “quite low key”, although "low key" is not exactly what comes to mind when you think of Hever Castle!

The Ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service at the Mediterranean inspired Loggia. Bride and Groom each had an entrance, and walked down the aisle with their two beautiful dogs.

The Bride was rocking a "Boho Princess" look with her flower crown.

The incredible ceremony space was decorated by pampas grass. The string quartet added some magic, playing music from the famous series  – and I really felt like I was in Bridgerton.

During the ceremony the couple read their own vows. It was so meaningful, and I could see a lot of tears from those present.

Couple session

We took advantage of the many stunning spots at Hever castle for their couple session (we were of course joined by the couple’s fur babies). You really are spoilt for choice here, with incredible Italian gardens, the Castle, several lakes, and my favourite – Italian Loggia, amongst other endless beautiful spots.

At the end of the couple session we stopped over for some slushies which Rebecca insisted she was buying for everyone present :)

After that, the couple headed to their local pub in Forest Row for a low key reception with pizzas.

Why Hever castle is a great place to get married

Hever castle is a dream – come – true wedding venue, and is one of the nicest places to get married in Kent. It’s perfect for both intimate and large-scale celebrations, offering several packages to suit any event. For me – it was love at first sight, with its incredible Italian gardens, multiple lakes and Bridgerton inspired architecture. The team at the venue are brilliant, and do everything to ensure that you have the most perfect day.
