Sophie and Sam got married at Brookfield barn, which is a wedding venue in Sussex. Here you can have your ceremony by a beautiful lake with the most gorgeous views.

Sophie and Sam wanted to have a beautiful celebration with their loved ones. The couple were expecting their first child together, so I knew how important it was for me to capture their day in the most special and authentic way.

Morning Preparations

The venue has a bridal prep room where you can get your hair and make up done in the morning. It’s a lovely space with plenty of natural light.

The Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service outside. I absolutely love outdoor weddings at Brookfield barn, the view is so beautiful and the lake is so serene and calming.
They decorated the space with white and blue florals which I loved. The weather was gorgeous, we were all so lucky with the sun and clear skies.
Sam was tearing up way before Sophie was coming down the aisle. When he saw her, he couldn’t stop the tears – which is exactly the reaction that every girl dreams of.
Their ceremony was incredibly special and heartfelt. I was really close to tears myself!

The Wedding Reception

The wedding breakfast room was beautifully set up.
But the real highlight of this wedding for me were the speeches. Both Sophie and Sam were so authentic in what they had to say, they really made everyone feel special by sharing their story with their guests.
There was a surprise gender reveal by the couple, and I’m not sure anything is going to beat it! This is the moment when the whole room went wild, and there were a lot of tears.

Couple Portrait Photos

Sophie wore a beautiful Essense of Australia dress, with a deep V neckline covered in pearls, and a stunning long veil. Sam wore a really nice light-coloured three-piece suit perfect for August.

We split our couple shoot in two sessions as I knew we were going to get an amazing golden hour, so I really wanted to take the couple out for portraits later on in the day.

Sophie and Sam were a dream to photograph. They were so effortlessly natural and affectionate with each other. And Brookfield barn has one of the most beautiful fields that I have seen, absolutely perfect for a couple shoot. Our golden hour shoot there was pure magic.

Review

Sophie and Sam got in touch with me about a year before their wedding, saying that they loved how I offered a mix of elegant and natural, relaxed and timeless. And that it was exactly the style that they were looking for.
