Stylish and Elegant Spring Wedding at Highley manor, Sussex

If you’re planning your Big Day at Highley manor in Sussex, you’ll love reading about this wedding!

Christy and Tobias got married at Highley manor, an exclusive-use wedding venue situated in the picturesque Sussex countryside. It has unbelievable views and magical sunsets.

Christy works in fashion and has the most amazing taste. It’s not surprising that everything about this wedding was fashionably elegant and sophisticated.

Christy and Tobias wanted to have a relaxed celebration with their loved ones, and they also wanted to wow their guests, and include some traditional and classic elements in their wedding day. What made it extra special was the fact that some of the guests came from abroad, as Tobias is German. I knew how incredibly important it was to capture all these people together, perhaps for the first time ever.

Morning Preparations

The venue has a preparations room on site, where Christy and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the morning. She was incredibly relaxed the whole time, and you could tell that she was enjoying every minute from the moment she woke up that day.

The Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service outside. This space at Highley manor really does have a wow factor, with its stunning views.
The couple had prepared their own wows, and had readings by their family members. It was incredibly special and personal, and there were a lots of tears!

The Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, the guests were enjoying drinks and canapes, while I was photographing the couple with their families and friends.

After their wedding breakfast, Christy and Tobias had a champagne tower set up outside. I love when couples do this, I find that it really elevates your wedding day and makes it even more special. The spot was absolutely perfect. Having it outside just makes for the best photos, and there is a lot more space for your guests to mingle too!

Christy and Tobias had their beautiful first dance accompanied by their band, and you could see how much they were enjoying themselves. The smiles didn’t leave their faces all day.

Couple Portrait Photos

As I’ve already mentioned, Christy has the most incredible taste, and of course her dress was absolutely gorgeous. It had pretty removable sleeves, a detachable bow at the back, a gorgeous silhouette that reminded me of Vivienne Westwood dresses, and a long veil.

Tobias looked very handsome – with his light blue suit, and brown shoes and a tie. These two looked like could easily be on a magazine cover.
The couple had the most amazing, natural and effortless energy around each other. I really didn’t need to guide them much during their couple shoot – Christy and Tobias’s interactions were so naturally affectionate, I was just there capturing the magic while they were enjoying their alone time.
We had two couple shoots – one after the ceremony, and another one later on in the day. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, so I knew we were going to have a magical sunset, and I really wanted to capture it. It was so worth it! The photos I took of the couple were so dreamy and beautiful.

Review

Christy and Tobias got in touch with me about a year before their wedding, saying that they loved my work and were drawn to the way I create natural and relaxed imagery with an editorial touch.

Here is what the couple said afterwards:

“We had the most absolutely incredible experience working with Yana. From the initial call we were immediately put at ease, she made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. On the day everything ran perfectly smoothly and having our portraits done didn’t interrupt the day at all. We are absolutely in love with our photos, they really capture the whole day and fit the exact relaxed and natural brief we were after. I would recommend Yana to anyone thinking of booking a photographer for their wedding!”
